The Fultondale City Council is offering a $500 cash reward for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the vandalism at the new Children’s Park on Stout’s Road last weekend. • Mark you calendars for the last Movie Night on Aug. 4 at Black Creek Park. The movie will be “Hotel for Dogs” and we will also have a “Back to School Bash’ with inflatables, a water slide and more.

• Congratulations to Michael Collins (originally from Fultondale) who was promoted on June 9 to police sergeant at Birmingham. His wife Allyson is so proud of him. We wish him the best of luck.

• Congratulations to 31 North Rebels who won the 9-year-old Red Division in the Global World Series at Orange Beach two weeks ago. The boys on the team are from Gardendale, Fultondale and Morris. We are very proud of them.

• A special congratulations to my son, Derek Barnes, and my new daughter-in-law, Jessica Mullins–Barnes, who were married last Saturday afternoon. A special thanks to Debbie and Richard Mullins for providing a beautiful wedding and to everyone who participated. Also a word of thanks to all Derek’s firefighter brothers; he could not have been more proud to have all of you there.
