Two people were arrested early this week after sheriff’s deputies stopped an alleged rolling meth lab near Morris.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Lt. Randy Christian said a deputy stopped a black Pontiac Grand Prix with no tag traveling south on U.S. 31 Monday morning at 8 a.m.

Christian said the female passenger, identified as 28-year-old Wendy Kreps of Decatur, gave a false name and a Missouri driver license to the deputy. She told the deputy she was 19 years old.

“A search of the vehicle found some of the ingredients necessary to manufacture meth in the trunk,” Christian said. “The female suspect also had two pages of written directions on her person about how to make meth.”

The search also recovered two plastic bottles considered to be an active meth lab. Deputies also found used syringes and a white substance on the female suspect. Marijuana residue and burned remnants of marijuana cigarettes were also found in the ash tray, Christian said.

Kreps was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, giving a false name to a law enforcement officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacturing a controlled substance.

Arrested with Kreps was 29-year-old Genesis M. Lindsey of Fairview on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacturing a controlled substance.

Bonds for both suspects were set at $700,000 each.
