Organizers called the fourth annual Gardendale Garden Tour a success.

“We’re very, very pleased,” said Maurene Guffin. She said at least 150 people toured the gardens last weekend.

The tour featured seven gardens. It was sponsored by the Gardendale Beautification Commission and the Blue Star, Garden Dale and Twin Oaks Garden Clubs.

The participants were:

• Bill and Linda Brock, 104 Windwood Circle

• Doug and Hilda Huff, 4670 Northridge Drive

• Donny and Sissy Headley, 887 Brookline Road

• Wes and Alta Stubert, 835 Brookline Road

• O.C. and Marlene Ferguson, 762 Brookline Circle

• Peggy Dutton, 197 Springdale Drive

• Terri Turner, 193 Springdale Drive

“There wasn’t one any better than the others. They were all good,” said Guffin. “One of the unusual things was we had so many men. And a number of people expressed a desire to join a garden club.”

Guffin said she has already started planning next year’s tour, with one person from this year already committing for next year’s show.
