The annual Fultondale 5K Stampede Run will be June 20 at 8 a.m. and benefits the Fultondale Fire Department and it is sponsored by Fultondale Gas. A special guest from Nebraska — Tom Osterbuhr — will also be on hand. We would like to ask residents who live along the route of the 5K run to please keep dogs locked up and to not block the road with cars so runners can get through. The run starts on Briscoe Street and goes down Elkwood, Kathy Lane, Maplecrest and Greenbriar streets. For more information, contact Sammy Morris at 849-5740.

• Fultondale First Baptist will be having a doughnut sale today at the Kmart in Gardendale, beginning at 9 a.m. The church is raising funds for the North Alabama Christian Women’s Conference that will be held in August. The doughnuts will be $5 per dozen and they would appreciate your support.

• The Fultondale Fire Department will host a “Fill the Boot” fundraiser today from 9 a.m. to noon at Books-a-Million and Winn-Dixie. Funds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Last year they raised more than $800.

• The Fultondale Fire and Rescue Department is proud to announce that we have a new basic paramedic, Eric Ingram, who recently passed all of his EMT tests, as did Adam Crumpton. We are so very proud of our volunteer fire and rescue department; they do a great job for the residents of our city.
