Despite the fact that the team’s championship season has been over for nearly three weeks, the Mortimer Jordan softball team continues to climb in the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association nationwide poll.

The Blue Devils moved up a spot to eighth in this week’s poll, which was released in Friday’s edition of USA Today.

It sets yet another record for the highest poll ranking ever by an Alabama team. It’s the eighth week the Devils have been in the top 25.

Ace at Green Briar: Golfer Kevin Nelson made a hole-in-one on the 18th hole at Green Briar Golf Club in Morris on May 28.

Nelson’s ace came with a pitching wedge on the 90-yard hole. Joel Owens and Ricky Peek were witnesses.
