Tyler Hannah, who was a standout shortstop at Gardendale High, has signed to play at Tennessee after finishing at Wallace State-Hanceville.

Hannah was named Monday to the ACCC All-Region first team along with teammates Dustin Lawley and Zac Taylor.

Hannah had a .391 batting average for Wallace, with four home runs and 27 RBIs. On defense, he had a .971 fielding average.

In his career at Gardendale, Hannah was awarded a Class 5A All-State Honorable Mention for three straight years by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

Hannah is playing this summer on a team in Atlanta that is run by scouts in the Braves organization. He may also be selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft on June 9, though his father Dale said Tyler would play at least one year at UT, even if drafted.
