Fultondale Elementary School fourth-grader Sterling Starks is already thinking about the future.

Sterling recently submitted a winning essay after North Jefferson News reporter Melanie Patterson visited Briggette Dunn’s class and challenged the students to write about “Why education is important.”

Four students submitted essays: Roosevelt Banks, Taylor Farley, Starling Starks and Melissa Jimenez.

Why Education Is Important

Education is important because it helps you have a better future. Education gets you a good job such as a teacher, paleontologist, or news reporter. If you don’t have a job you won’t be able to pay your bills. If you can’t pay your bills you will be homeless.

Education gets you to your goals. Education gets you into a good college. If you want to be a baseball player or a teacher you would have to get an education. Education gives you success.

Education is the most important thing to me. Without an education I wouldn’t know anything. I wouldn’t know math, reading, or spelling. Education tells me what or what not to do when I’m in a bad situation or just need help. I need to thank every person that helped me get an education so far.

In addition, everyone needs to thank their parents, guardians, and teacher for helping them get an education. That’s why education is important.



Why is Getting a Good Education Important?

The reason of having a good education is so you can grow up and do something fun with your life. The reason I want good grades or a good education is so I can grow up and be an artist or a good teacher. I want to do something fun or cool with my life.

If you don’t have a good education you might end up living on the side of the road in a cardboard box. That’s not funny. If you don’t study or do your homework you won’t be successful or be a good role model for younger kids. So here’s an awesome lesson for you as you get older; study, do your homework, stay in school, and just do your best.

The reason it is good to get a very good education is because it is important. It is important because you could learn a lot of new stuff like Social Studies, Math, and Reading. Without an education you would not learn anything. You wouldn’t have anything to do or think about. You should get an education. Education is a good thing to do. If you have a family member that doesn’t have an education you should tell them to get one because you can get a scholarship.

Getting a good education is important because people go to college to refresh their memory to learn new subjects and get new jobs. Sometimes people get good education and get awards.

Education is good for you because you can learn new things like social studies, reading, math, and science. When you think too much about what you’re going to do you just need to refresh your mind. College is important for you to learn and pass school. One thing you’re suppose to know about college is that you need to study. If you want to pass any other school grades you must study; then go to college.
