May is National Foster Care Month, Skin Cancer Awareness Month and National Mental Health Month. May 6-12 is National Nurses Week. May 7 is National Teachers Day and May 8 is National Student Nurses Day.

• Happy anniversary to Jimmie and Debbie Lowe (20 years) on May 6 and John and Amanda Young and Randy and Kellie Wolford on May 7.

• Happy birthday to: Loretta White and Brandon Bowman on May 4; Britney Mason and Sarah McCombs on May 5; Jessie Lowe and Yvonne Hodges on May 6; and Robert Freeman and Beverly Kyle on May 8.

• A very special birthday wish to my grandson, Zach Gross, who turns 19 on May 9. I love you to the moon and back.

• Mavis Lawson will be speaking at the Warrior Community Center on May 14 at 7 p.m. Come out and join us for a wonderful time in The Lord.
