A gospel singing will be held May 2 at the Gardendale Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Steel City Quartet, soloist Abrielle Mullins, Eden Mullins and Chris Mullins. The event is free and is sponsored by the Gardendale Arts Council.

• Friendship Community Church Decoration will take place on May 10. Lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m. and a singing featuring Total Praise will start at 1:30 p.m.

• Happy birthday to the lovely Donna Dodd on April 28. Donna is the wife of Larry Dodd and the mother of Justin Cosby and Kelsey Dodd. She is the proud grandmother of Titus Cosby.

• Happy birthday to Hunter Hargreaves on April 30. I hope you have a great year.

• Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church flea market, craft show and fabric sale is today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will feature hand-made crafts, yard sale items and fabrics for only $5 per yard.

• Please continue to pray for Kevin and Amy Averheart. Pray that God will give them clear direction and peace as they go through this time.
