Take secretary to lunch, plant trees on April 22

Don’t forget that April 22 is Earth Day and Administrative Professionals Day. Do something nice for the earth and for your secretary on that day.
• April is Alcohol Awareness Month. To learn the signs of alcoholism call Narconon at 877-413-3073.
• Choices and Consequences, a free town hall meeting for seniors, will be held April 22 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Gardendale Civic Center. Speaker Lynn Campisi, an elder law attorney, will enlighten seniors on the many choices available to them in terms of legal issues. Sponsoring vendors will have information available. Door prizes and a sack lunch will be provided. Call Dixie Kuykendall at 631-0049.
• The Gardendale Senior Center Health Fair will take place April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gardendale Civic Center. Any local businesses with interests can call Peggy at 631-7240.
• The Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church flea market, craft show and fabric sale will be held April 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will feature handmade crafts, yard sale items and expensive fabrics will be sold for only $5 per yard. Booth space is still available; call 631-7631 for more information.
• Please continue to pray for Kevin and Amy Averheart. Kevin has some health issues that need the Lord’s healing touch.
