Special mixture can help put an end to mildew

Garden Tip: Mix 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, 1 tablespoon of baby shampoo and 1 teaspoon of instant tea granules in a hand-held sprayer to ward off any mildew from asters, all garden phlox, black-eyed Susans and crepe myrtles.

• Happy birthday greetings go to Brandon Smith and Awedrene Egan Reid on April 28 and to Bailey Sloan on May 2. I hope all of you have a great day and year.

• Today is a great day for yard sales, one of which will be at Stewart’s Chapel. They always have great bargains. Come see what treasures you may find.

• Remember the fourth Sunday of April is Decoration Day at New Bethel Baptist Church on Warrior-Jasper Road. We remember parents, sisters, brothers, children and all that have left this walk of life before us. Gary Creel is the pastor.

• Our country still needs prayer and also the American troops that are in harm’s way.
