A Gardendale man was arrested this week on drug charges in relation to a narcotics search on Tuesday.

A police department press release said that James Wood Owsley was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after police found approximately 21 marijuana plants at Owsley’s home in the 800 block of Twin Ridge Drive.

The release said the officers also discovered large quantities of fertilizer, growing lights and an additional 50 grams of marijuana in the search.

More charges could follow pending further investigation, the release said.
