Garden tip: Now is the time of the year to prune your rose bushes through March 20. However, do not prune more than half of the bush unless it has grown out of control. You can also put these cuttings in a place to root. I have several bushes since I started trying to root all cuttings.

• The Warrior Lions Club still have the Warrior historical calendars for a donation of $5. When these calendars are gone, there will not be any more available. These calendars show many buildings in and around Warrior and feature some graduates from Warrior High School. For more information about the pecans call J.D. McAlpine at 647-9697.

• Happy birthday greetings go to: Johnie Crane on March 1; Morton Bueil on March 2; Mildred Harris on March 3; Morris Winnett and Charlotte Reid on March 6; and Papa Duke Blackmon on March 8. I hope all have a great birthday and year.

• If you have an event coming up in this area, call me. We can use any news, birthdays, anniversaries, singing, church events or any other news.

• Our country still needs prayer and also the American troops that are in harms way.
