Tabernacle Christian’s boys and girls teams defend their respective state titles from last year as they go into the ACEA State Basketball Tournament at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa this week.

Both teams face their counterparts from Montgomery Eastwood Christian in the first game. The boys square off Thursday at 8 p.m.

“Eastwood is a very tough team. They have only two ACEA losses this season,” Tabernacle coach David Corbett said. “We have played a challenging season with injuries and setbacks. I’d like to give them credit where it is due.”

The Lady Torches square off on Friday at 4 p.m. in their semifinal against Eastwood. The winner plays in Saturday’s championship game at 1:15 p.m.
