Ellis D. McCurry, age 65, of Hayden, left this walk of life with his family by his side on Thursday, February 12, 2009. His funeral service was held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on February 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. with burial following at Elvester Cemetery. Bro. Burkes Crane officiated. Visitation was held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. He is survived by his children; Cathy (Ricky) Hall of Pell City, Tammy Fowler of Warrior, Samanthy (Wayne) Greathouse of Hayden, John McCurry and Imma Slatton, grandchildren; Joshua Williams, Tasha Langston, Andrew Sloan, Fallon Blackmon, Jessica McCurry, Bryan McCurry, AJ, Nila, Nicole Johnson, Phillip Johnson and Darrin Williams and one brother Otis McCurry and a host of extended family and many friends.
