Geddings, a goalkeeper with the Birmingham United club soccer team where she posted a perfect 0.00 goals-against average last season, is headed for Jacksonville State. Geddings gained a bit of fame for playing the other kind of football last season, when she kicked extra points for Corner High.
National Signing Day on Wednesday meant scholarship signings for two local high school athletes.
Gardendale linebacker Tyrone Bowie, flanked by his father Robert and mother Joanne, signed a scholarship offer from Mississippi Valley State, an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) school in Itta Bena, Mississippi. Bowie was selected to the ASWA Class 6A All-State team last season.
