Prep Basketball Roundup: Jordan girls romp over Spartans; Thorsby clips Fultondale in OT

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Mortimer Jordan 60, Pleasant Grove 35
Haylie McCleney had 11 points and Brianna Nation added 10 as the Blue Devils made short work of the Spartans Monday afternoon.
Jordan scored the first 10 points of the game, and racked up a 26-10 lead by halftime, coasting the rest of the way.
Michelle Little led all scorers with 15 points for Pleasant Grove.
Thorsby 40, Fultondale 38, OT
Haylie Barnett’s 3-point shot in the extra period, coupled with a basket by Amanda Hubbard, proved to be the difference as the Rebels edged the Wildcats in overtime.
Britani Howell for Fultondale and Sharonda Cooper for Thorsby each scored 15 points, but none in overtime.
Briana Griffin had 10 points for the Wildcats, including a basket in the extra period.
Homewood 48, Gardendale 31
Alexsis Brown nearly outscored the Rockets by herself, finishing with 26 points as the Patriots rolled.
Kasey Jones topped the Rockets with 12 points.
Hayden 65, Springville 62
Krista Stricklin had 23 points with eight rebounds, and Mallory Ray added 19 points as Hayden overcame a six-point Tigers lead at halftime.
Reshika Newsome led Springville with 16 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Fultondale 77, Thorsby 60
Landon Robinson hit four 3-pointers on his way to a 20-point night for the Wildcats.
Dre Talley and Christian McCollough had 16 points each, and R.J. Sanders pumped in 11.
Evan Bryan had 12 points for the Rebels. Marcus Bray and Eddie Hubbard added 11 each.
