A high-speed police pursuit that originated in Birmingham has reportedly ended and three suspects have been arrested.

According to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects have been identified as Phillip Andrew Hampton, 21, Travis Ray Smith, 26 and Shane Richard Moore, 22. All three suspects are from Ashland Tenn., the release said.

The suspects were charged with first-degree robbery and are being held on $150,000 bonds.

The suspects reportedly robbed Tyner’s Pharmacy on Chalkville Mountain Road. The suspects reportedly took $11,000 in prescription painkillers and fired at least one shot into the ceiling of the pharmacy before fleeing in a Mazda 626.

Six different police agencies assisted in the pursuit and capture including the sheriff’s office, Birmingham, Trussville, Tarrant, Gardendale and Fultondale, the release said.

Following the alleged robbery, the suspects reportedly drove south to Tallapoosa Street and then proceeded to U.S. 31. Other streets taken in the pursuit included Springdale Road in Tarrant and Pine Hill and Black Creek Roads. Guns and drugs were reportedly thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit, which ended without incident in Morris.

Gardendale Police Chief Mike Walker said Tuesday that both guns used in the robbery have been recovered.
