Sunday marks the first day of Hanukkah — it begins at sundown. This is also the first day of the winter season.

• Dec. 26 is Kwanza and Boxing Day in Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand

• Happy birthday to my husband Todd Pelkey on December 26 and to Michael Andrewjeski and Nick Ezell on Dec. 27. Hope all of you have a wonderful birthday.
