The deadline to enter the Gardendale Beautification Commission’s Christmas decorating contest is Dec. 8. Judging will be Dec. 15. The contest is for businesses and homeowners in Gardendale city limits. Applications can be picked up at city hall, the public library and the Gardendale Civic Center. They can be returned to city hall or mailed to: Gardendale Beautification Commission, P.O. Box 1681, Gardendale, AL, 35071.
• There will be a singing at Fieldstown Church of God on Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m. by the Dotson Family. For more information, call Bishop Timothy D. Ogletree at 631-9604 or 631-6013.
• The Northern Area Realtor Caravan will hold its Christmas breakfast and auction fund-raiser at the Gardendale Civic Center on Dec. 3 at 8 a.m. Please join them for a great time of food, fellowship and the fun of bidding on the auction items. Any questions should be directed to Mike Mealer at 531-0326. They will pick up items or deliver tickets to you.
• The Gardendale Christmas parade will be Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. The theme this year is “I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas.” For more information or if you would like to enter a float this year, call the Chamber of Commerce at 631-9195.
• Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be hosting a free pancake breakfast for the community on Dec. 6 from 9 to 11 a.m. Please call 631-9560 for more details.
• Aegis Women’s Group is sponsoring its annual Christmas Home Tour on Dec. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. There are four homes on the tour. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at In Full Bloom, at Merle Norman or from any Aegis member. No children younger than 10 allowed on the tour. Children 10 and older must have their own tickets.
• Happy birthday to Nicole Shaver on Nov. 30. Nicole is turning 21 years old this year. Hope you have a wonderful birthday.
