A community Thanksgiving service sponsored by the ministerial association will be held on Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Sanctuary. There will be a children’s worship service in the gym. Nursery services are also available. Call 631-7631 for more details.

• Happy birthday wishes to Joy Clayton of Gardendale today. Joy is the wife of Tim and the mother of Paul, Luke and Silas Clayton. She also happens to be my cousin and one of my best friends. Have a great one.

• Happy birthday wishes also go out to Dayton “Grandpa” Tesseneer on Nov. 23.

• A very special happy birthday wish goes out to Joshua. He is turning 10 years old tomorrow. We hope it is a wonderful day.

• The Gardendale Christmas parade will take place on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. The theme this year is “I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas.” For more information or if you would like to enter a float this year, call the Chamber of Commerce at 631-9195.

• Thanksgiving is Thursday, so be sure to buy up plenty of groceries and tell the Lord how thankful you are for all of the blessings that He has put in your life.
