Aegis group to sponsor Christmas Home Tour

Aegis Women’s Group is sponsoring its annual Christmas Home Tour on Dec. 7, 1-5 p.m. There are four homes on the tour. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at In Full Bloom, at Merle Norman or from any Aegis member. No children younger than 10 allowed on the tour. Children 10 and older must have their own tickets.



Morris

Night golf tourney scheduled for Thursday

The second annual UAB Occupational Therapy Night Golf Tournament will be held Thursday at the Green Briar Golf Course in Morris. The nine-hole tournament is a two-person scramble. If a person does not have a partner, one will be provided. The cost to play in the tournament is $25. Businesses and individuals can also purchase sponsorship signs for $50. North Jefferson towns still await mining decision

As of Tuesday, Judge Scott Vowell still had not ruled whether RJR Mining of Cullman will be allowed to open a strip mine in Kimberly. Keep checking The North Jefferson News for the judge’s decision.



Birmingham

Charity ride to collect teddy bears for kids

Members of the Birmingham Harley Owners Group (HOG) are looking ahead to the holidays as they collect stuffed animals for their annual “Teddy Bear Ride” to Children’s Hospital set for Saturday, according to a press release. This year’s event marks the 15th consecutive year that these motorcycle enthusiasts have delivered a Santa-size load of stuffed animals to the ill and injured children who are patients at Children’s. More than 300 bikers are expected to participate. Since its first year, the “Teddy Bear Ride” has grown from a gathering of five motorcycles to last year’s event that included more than 500 bikers and 120 volunteers. Golf tourney to benefit Burkett Center

The 14th annual golf tournament to benefit the Burkett Center for the multi-handicapped will be held at Limestone Springs Golf Course on Nov. 14. Sponsorships cost $100. All sponsorship signs are tax deductible and all proceeds go to Burkett Center PTA. For more information call 617-7594.
