• The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into allegations that drugs were found on the campus of Mortimer Jordan High School on Thursday

• Students from across the country recently attended a major birthday party. Alabama 4-H is celebrating a milestone this year — its centennial anniversary.

• Playing golf in the dark may seem like a dangerous pastime, but for one family, it’s a way to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.

The second annual UAB Occupational Therapy Night Golf Tournament will be held Nov. 6 at the Green Briar Golf Course in Morris.

• When Karen White said she’s going to hit the roof, she means it.

She did just that on Friday, sitting on the roof of the school all day despite rain that fell in sheets for part of the day.
