Garden tip: Straw has begun to fall now. As you rake it, place the straw around plants that need mulching. The straw is better than bark mulch because it breaks down in one year. If you have not planted your tulips, refrigerate them for about two weeks to trick the bulbs into thinking that winter has set in. Also, now is the time to plant pansy plants since the weather has started to cool.

• Pray for Junior Mayfield, Shirley Eubanks, Burlie Mae Mayfield, Essie Mae Lowe, LaVern James, Emma and Elizabeth and all that are sick. May God be with all of you at this time of your life.

• Happy birthday greetings to: Paula Crane Delhart on Oct. 28; David Crawford on Oct. 29; Celeba Blackmon on Oct. 30; Lydia Delhart on Oct. 31. Hope all have a great year.

• Does anyone know where we can get a copy of the seek monkey doll? Also, the jumping Santa that Kindergarten classes used to make at Christmas, and does anyone know were a coal burning stove can be purchased? It can be new or used. A lady needs this heater before the wether turns cold.

• WaterStone Church of Warrior (across from the elementary school) will be having their annual fall festival on All Saints Day, Nov. 1. There will be free hot dogs, chili and drinks and an old fashion hay ride, inflatable and games for the children to do. Everyone is invited. The festivities will start at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m.

• Continue to pray for our country and for our troops that are in harms way.
