I would like to thank all the sponsors of our Fultondale Senior Golf Tournament that was held Oct. 10 at Highland Golf Course. We had a very good tournament and it seems that everyone had a great time. Thanks to Full Moon for catering the event for us. Also, thanks to the local businesses that donated gift cards for door prizes. We raised a little over $15,000 for the senior citizens facility.
• According to information we received, the New Stix Restaurant is supposed to open on Oct. 20.
• Homecoming at Fultondale First Baptist Church will be Sunday. Guest Speaker will be Bo Burchfield and the group singers will be Unity. Services begin at 10:45 a.m. and lunch will be after church services. They would like to invite everyone to come on out and fellowship with them. They would love to see all their old friends.
• I would like to remind all dog owners that we do have a leash law. Your dogs must be kept in a pen or on a leash at all times. Otherwise, animal control will pick them up. Also, your neighbors or others do not want to have to clean up after them. Stray dogs will get in the garbage and make a big mess for someone to clean up. Be thoughtful of your neighbors.
• Election Day is Nov. 4. Please get out and vote.
• I would like send get well wishes to Mrs. Polly Goodwin, who has not been feeling very well. We hope she is out and about feeling better real soon.
• Happy birthday wishes to: Blake Rhodes and Drew Davis of the gas department on Oct. 20; Tammy Hubbert of the gas department on Oct. 21; J.E. Campbell of the street department on Oct. 22; and to Jason Garner of the gas department on Oct. 23. All do a great job and we hope they have a great birthday.
• A happy belated birthday wish goes to James (Jimmy) Parsons, Jr. of the street department on Oct. 6. Jimmy is a great employee and friend. We hope he had a great birthday.
• Remember if you have news, anniversaries, birthdays or reunions, let me know.
