Garden tip: Select your bulbs now, but don’t plant them — wait until the ground is cold. You can plant mums now, and when the weather gets a little cooler, set out pansies. Be sure to water well because the air is dry. Compost all of your leaves and kitchen items such as coffee grounds, tea leaves, paper towels and anything without bones or grease.

• Pray for Junior Mayfield, Shirley Eubanks, Burlie Mae Mayfield, Essie Mae Lowe, LaVern James, Emma and Elizabeth and all that are sick. May God be with all of you at this time.

• Happy birthday greetings to: LaVern James and Robby Seigle on Oct. 12; Polly Munford and Ed Sloan on Oct. 13; and Allan Sloan on Oct. 15. Hope all have a great year.

• If you have pictures of your graduation, we need for you to get in touch with Ray Trotter at 647-3743. The pictures that hung in the hall of Warrior High School were removed years ago. We are looking for the years: 1939, 1942, 1949, 1951, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1970 through 1978 and 1980 through 1992.
