The Fultondale Full Moon Barbecue Restaurant will have its grand opening/ribbon cutting on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

• J.C. Penny’s will open this Sunday to the public. Their grand opening will be Friday.

• The Lewisburg reunion is Saturday 4-6 p.m. at the Fultondale Elementary School. The Foster–Elkins annual family reunion will be all day today at 85 Smoke Rise Lane.

• The City of Fultondale has a new ordinance prohibiting or regulating the owning or keeping of dangerous animals. Vicious animals must be registered with the city clerk in writing. To learn more, call city hall at 841-4481.

• Our street department has a new telephone number: 841-0786.

• Please continue to remember our friend and police dispatcher, Gene Fallon, in your prayers. He is still in the hospital.

• Mrs. Polly Goodwin is doing much better and should be at home by now.

• The Fultondale Chamber of Commerce meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.

• We would like to wish Mr. Wayne Martin good luck in his retirement from the Birmingham News.

• Michelle Cantey and all who know and love Mrs. Helon Cantey would like to wish her a very special happy birthday on Oct. 7. She will be 89 years young and still as spry as ever. She still drives everywhere and goes to the football games to watch her great grandson.

• Happy birthday to Josh Bryant. His sweet wife wanted to wish her wonderful husband Josh a happy 27th birthday on Sept. 17.

• A special happy birthday wish to Will Vickers who will be 9 years old on Sept. 30. He is the grandson of Dianne Bolden and the (late) Jack Bolden.

• Happy belated birthday wishes go to Leenise Gaddy of CapitalSouth Bank and to Dana Oliver on Sept. 22.

• A happy belated birthday wish to Charlotte Bittle on Sept. 24.
