Vikings explode for 49 points in win over ‘Cats

The Walker Vikings picked up their third win of the season with a 49-0 win over the Hayden Wildcats.
The Vikings scored three times in just over a minute and a half in the first quarter to put the game out of reach. Lamarr Steward ran 82 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring. Matthew Prevost added the point-after.
Rex Allred then recovered an on side kick following the first score. Curtis Harris then caught a 38-yard pass from Jared Henderson, but the kick for the piont-after was blocked. One and a half minutes later, Henderson ran in from 10 yards to break the game open.
Ervin Allen successfully ran the 2-point conversion try in. Walker would later add two touchdowns from Burt Bowers on runs of 42 and three yards. In addition, Henderson and Harris would connect on a 33-yard touchdown pass.
The loss drops the Cats to 1 – 3, 1 -2. Hayden will travel to Pleasant Grove in a class 5A, Region 6 game next Friday.
