The 50th anniversary celebration of Central Baptist Church will take place tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The special speaker will be Henry Cox. Morning service will be followed by a covered dish luncheon. There will be an afternoon celebration starting at 2 p.m., including former pastors, members and ministers of music. • Happy fourth birthday to Silas Clayton on Sept. 17. Silas is the son of Tim and Joy Clayton of Gardendale and the brother of Paul and Luke Clayton.

• The Sims and Hollis family has had a very busy summer. June brought the birthdays of Heather Sims and Carol Sims Karrasch. Heather turned 26 and Carol, well, that will be kept a secret. Trent Millican, son of Brenda and Keith Hollis, left for advanced army training in Gulfport, Miss. He returned home Aug. 29. Alan Sims’ celebrated a birthday on Aug. 17 and his mom, Geraldine Sims celebrated on Aug. 27. Keith Hollis celebrated his birthday on Aug. 10. Keith is the husband of Brenda Hollis. Brenda Hollis is the daughter of Carol Sims Karrasch and Carol is the daughter of Geraldine Sims.

• Life and Praise Assembly of God will hold a building fund benefit singing on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. On Sept. 26-28, they will have a revival with evangelist Lavernon Davis. For more information call 647-4921 or 213-3986.
