Today is Trafford Baptist Church’s annual yard and bake sale. Come on out and get you something good to eat and find something you just can’t do without.

• This week’s birthdays are: Amanda Daniels on Sept. 8; Brandon Hays, Billy White, Garland White and Heather Heatherington on Sept. 9; A.K. Boatright, Charlene Young and Curt Lawson on Sept. 11; and Alexis Rowe on Sept. 13. I hope they are all wonderful .

• Happy anniversary to my pastor and first lady, Philip and Shirley Jones on Sept. 11.

• Mavis Lawson will be speaking at The Warrior Community Center on Sept. 11.

• Congratulations to our new council: Tim Waddell, Billy Motes, Debra Miller, Kim Hayes and Alan Camp. There will be a runoff for mayor on Oct. 7.
