Escapee found in Florida
A Gardendale jail escapee has been found in Florida. Kevin Dale Carter reportedly escaped from the jail Monday night at about 7 p.m. Carter, who had earned trustee privileges, may have been picked up at the jail by someone else. His orange jail jumpsuit was reportedly found at the corner of Parker and Tarrant roads. Lt. Chuck Denham said Carter was three days into a 24-day sentence on failure to appear charges. The police department received word this week that Carter was in the Bay County jail after being arrested on probation violation charges. Denham said deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will bring Carter back to the county at a future date.
