Football season is almost here; that is so exciting.

• August is Romance Awareness Month.

August 17 is Sand Castle Day.

• Mavis Lawson will be speaking at Warrior Community Center on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.

• August 19 is National Aviation Day. Orville Wright was born on this day in 1871.

• Happy anniversary to Phillip and Jerri Metcalf on Aug. 22. I hope it is great.

• Happy birthday to: Morghen Glass and Olivia White on Aug. 18; Rosie Leslie on Aug. 19; and Joseph Lowe on Aug. 22.

• August 22 is “Be An Angel Day.”

• A very, very special happy birthday to my grandson, Alex Gross; he will be 16 on Aug. 19.

• Please remember the family of Jeff Hodges in this time of loss. My prayers are with you. I love you.
