U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-AL, spoke Wednesday to a joint meeting of the Gardendale Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club at the Civic Center.

The junior senator from Selma spoke to the groups about energy concerns and the current fuel crunch.

Sessions serves on the energy, armed services, budget and judiciary committees.

He said the nation’s best options for reducing energy costs include more nuclear power facilities and more scientific innovation to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil.

Sessions is up for re-election in November.
