Election forum to be held Aug. 18 at civic center

Gardendale voters who want to familiarize themselves with mayoral and city council candidates running in the upcoming city election will get the opportunity at a city election forum held Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Gardendale Civic Center.

The North Jefferson News, Greater Gardendale Chamber of Commerce and North Jefferson Business League are sponsoring the forum.

The purpose of the electoral forum is to provide an opportunity for citizens in Gardendale to learn more about those seeking elected office and to create an unbiased environment for candidates to share their ideas as they relate to the future of our community.

All mayoral and city council candidates who have qualified have been invited and will have the opportunity to briefly discuss their platform with mayoral candidates also participating in a question and answer round.

Those who wish to submit questions to the candidates may do so via e-mail at newsroom@njeffersonnews.com. Please put “Forum” and the name of the candidate in the subject line of the e-mail. Please also include your address so we can verify that those sending questions are Gardendale residents.
