David Earl Guthrie, age 85 of Warrior, passed away on July 31, 2008. Mr. Guthrie was proceeded in death by his wife, Louise Pharris Guthrie, parents, William Jefferson Josia Guthrie and Viola Maybelle Collins Guthrie and brother, Roall Guthrie. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Alabama Power after many years of service. Mr. Guthrie was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and well be always remembered as a loving husband, father and brother. Survivors include his sons, David E. Guthrie, Jr. (Kelly), Joe Guthrie (Susan) and James Guthrie (Darlene); daughter, Lisa Guthrie Simpson (Skip); eight grandchildren; brother, Rex Guthrie (Jeanette); sister, Helen Watson; several nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Gardendale Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Minter Cemetery. Dr. William E. Burkett officiated.
