- The Middle Valley Wrecking Crew players and coaches hoist a trophy up in the air after winning the Dizzy Dean 7-year-old World Series at Moncrief Park in Gardendale on Thursday. The team from Hixson, Tenn., defeated the Oregon Park Sharks of Marietta, Ga., 11-8. Left fielder and catcher Brandon Haney (No. 11) was named the Most Valuable Player of the series.
