Sherry Elizabeth Payton, age 61, of Warrior, a beloved daughter, wife, mother and grandmother departed this walk of life to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday evening, July 18, 2008. Funeral services were held at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home with burial in Warrior Cemetery. Bro. Steve Abney officiated. Those left to cherish the love and memories of Mrs. Payton are her husband of 44 years Raymond; her daughters, Vicky (David) Lawrence, Tina Carter, Dena Miller; her grandchildren Matthew Lawrence, Peyton Ballard, Savannah Carter, Anna Ballard; brother David Elliott; sisters Kathy Coffee, Fran Reno and a host of extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to those individuals, churches and the entire staff of Physicians Medical Center (Carraway) and the staff of Norwood Clinic for their prayers and care given to Mrs. Payton.
