• Happy fourth anniversary to my wonderful husband, Todd Pelkey, on July 16. See, I didn’t forget. Todd is a great husband and father. I am blessed to have him by my side. I love you.

• Johnny and Loris Jones will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 15. A party will be hosted by their family in their honor.

• The Gardendale School of Fine Arts will present the Samuel French musical “Grease” on July 17-19 at 7 p.m. at the Gardendale Presbyterian Church. • Happy birthday to Gary Coker of Gardendale on July 19. He will be 52.

• Last Sunday at the Wildhorse in Nashville, Bryan Burchfield received the V.I.P. treatment when he met former Beatle, Ringo Starr. No pictures were taken because of tight security.

• Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church will be holding a yard sale today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Carol Karrasch, formerly of Gardendale, recently donated her hair to Locks of Love. Carol grew her hair for this specific purpose and says that she is happy to have short hair again. Thank you, Carol. For more information on Locks of Love you can visit www.locksoflove.org.

• A youth summer basketball camp will be held July 15-17 from 8:30 a.m. to noon for rising first through sixth graders. The cost is $20 and the camp will be held at Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. For more information call 631-7631.
