Summer is almost over and the first day of school is almost here.

Schools in northern Jefferson County are currently registering students for the upcoming school year.

Registration dates and times are as follows:

• Fultondale Elementary: Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for new and returning students. Aug. 5, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for new students only. Aug. 13, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., all remaining students.

• Fultondale High School: July 16: Seniors, 8-9 a.m.; juniors, 9:30-10:30 a.m.; tenth-graders, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

July 17: ninth grade, 8-9 a.m.; eighth grade, 9:30-10:30 a.m.; seventh grade, 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Late registration for all grades is on July 29, 5-7 p.m..

• Mt. Olive Elementary: Registration is anytime during the summer, Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The school will have meet-the-teacher day on Aug. 8: Kindergarten and third grade, 9-11 a.m.; first grade, 8-10 p.m.; second, fourth and fifth grades, 1-3 p.m.

• Snow Rogers Elementary School: Registration schedule not available by press time. Call the school at 379-5400.

• Gardendale Elementary School: Registration is throughout the summer, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

• Bragg Middle School: Registration began Monday and Tuesday. Students whose last names begin with the letters H-M register today, 9 a.m. until noon.

• Gardendale High School: Tuesday was registration day for freshmen and seniors. Today: 11th grade, 8:30-10:30 a.m; 10th-graders, 12:30-2:30 p.m. New student registration is Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 28, 9-11 a.m. and 12-2 p.m., is makeup day.

• Bryan Elementary: New student registration is July 16, 8-11 a.m.

Kindergarten and first-grade conferences are Aug. 4-5, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (teachers will contact parents to schedule for Kindergarten and first-grade students only). Second and third-grade students registration is Aug. 4, 6-7 p.m. Fourth and fifth-grade registration is Aug. 5, 6-7 p.m.

• Warrior Elementary: New student registration is July 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• North Jefferson Middle School: Registration is scheduled for July 31. Sixth grade is 9-11 a.m.; seventh grade is 1-3 p.m.; eighth grade is 5-7 p.m. Makeup day is Aug. 5, 4-7 p.m.

• Mortimer Jordan High School: Registration schedule not available by press time. Call the school at 379-4850.

• Corner Elementary School: Registration schedule not available by press time. Call the school at 379-3202.

• Corner High School: Registration schedule not available by press time. Call the school at 379-3200.

• Hayden Primary School: Grades K-2 register Friday and Aug. 1, 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

• Hayden Elementary: New students in grades 3-4 register Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Hayden Middle School: New students in grades 5-7 register Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Hayden High School: New students in grades 8-12 register Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Tabernacle Christian School: Tabernacle has open registration during regular school hours.
