Calvin S. Reid, age 79, of Hayden, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 23, 2008. He was born Aug. 11, 1928 to Sam and Annie Reid. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Annie (Hayes) Reid, daughter Jerri Lynn Reid, sister Ludie Mae Jacobs and brother J.C. Reid all of Hayden. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Alma Lee Jacobs Reid, son Rickey and his wife Karen Reid, daughter Janet and her husband Tim Blackmon all of Hayden; granddaughters Stacy and her husband Tracy Underwood of Flintstone, Ga., Heather Blackmon of Hayden, and Leah and her husband Neal Pierce of Blountsville, grandsons Heath Blackmon and Ryan Jackson both of Hayden, three great-granddaughters Madison Lee Underwood of Flintstone, Ga. and Emilee and Elyosa Pierce of Blountsville. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and special companion Pug and a host of friends. Services were held at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home on June 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. with burial in Union Grove Cemetery (Hayden). Bro. Tim Blackmon and Bro. Chris Chambless officiated.
