See ‘Madagascar’ for free on June 27

If you are looking for some free family fun next weekend, head out to the Garden-dale Civic Center for their movie night on June 27. The feature film that night will be “Madagascar,” and will begin at sundown. It’s rain or shine, so make plans to attend. There will also be Chick-fil-A for sale.
• Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church will have their vacation Bible school on God’s big back yard on June 23-27 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will also be a round up day starting at 10 a.m. on June 21 with food and fun for the whole family.
• Happy anniversary to my parents, Danny and Denise Tesseneer. They will be celebrating on June 24.
• Happy birthday to Mike McDermott on June 27.
• The 2009 Miss North Jefferson County Scholarship Pageant, an official Miss Alabama preliminary pageant, will be held July 27. The Outstanding Teen preliminary will also be held at this time. For forms go
to www.missnorthjeffersoncounty.com or call 841-5818 for more information. The 2008 Fundraiser Pageant will be held on July 26 at Fultondale Elementary School at 6 p.m. Ages 0-12 are eligible.
• Congratulations are in order for Garrett Best of Mt. Olive. Garrett has been named to the president’s list of Freed-Hardeman University for the spring 2008 semester. Best, a junior Bible BA major, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Best Jr. To be named to the president’s list, a full-time student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average for that semester.
• The Love family reunion will take place on June 28 from 2-6 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church.
