Happy Fathers Day to all of our fathers and a special happy Fathers Day to my Dad, Ray Wakeland. I love you very much.
• Fathers Day was started in 1910 by Mrs. John Dodd of Spokane, Wa. The custom spread throughout the United States and in 1936, a national Father’s Day committee was formed. The committee annually selects a Father of the Year. Some fathers who have won this title are: Douglas MacArthur, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Harry S. Truman.
• Happy anniversary to my brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Angie Wakeland on June 15 and to Justine and Chrissy Williams on June 19.
• A young minister, when about to be ordained, stated, that at one period of his life, he was nearly an infidel. “But,” he said, “there was one argument in favor of Christianity which I could not never refute; the consistent conduct of my Father.”
• Happy birthday to Phyllis Patterson and Inez Woods on June 16.
• “Well done is better than well said.” — Benjamin Franklin
• Happy birthday to Rebecca Hobgood on June 18.
• “Example is a lesson that all men can read.” —Gilbert West
• Happy birthday to Bob Latham and Ashley Hill on June 21.
• Have a great week and if you have any news please let me know.
