May is Military Appreciation Month. The following is titled “I Love My Country” by Ann Davis: “I love my country. I am thankful to say, that I am a citizen of the U.S.A. I love her people for they are a blend of every color, and each can be friend. I love my freedom I know it’s not free for men are now dying to defend it for me. I love the Lord for it’s only His grace that let me be born in this wonderful place.”

• Happy birthday to my aunt Myrt Williams on May 11 and my sister-in-law Angie Wakeland on May 12.

• Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers, and especially to my mother, Opal Wakeland. I love you and here is a poem for you called “Mother’s Day” by an unknown author: “Time has left its aging traces, marked the furrows on your brow, changed your once bright locks to silver, yet you’re only dearer now.

Dearer than in all my lifetime, for I now can realize how your life’s been given to others, one continual sacrifice. And though time may leave its traces, this, on Mother’s Day I’ll say, that my love is everlasting and each day is Mother’s Day.”

• Have a great week and if you have any news please let me know.
