We want to wish Coach Lee Powell a very happy 40th birthday on April 23. I’m told he is the best soccer coach ever.

• Happy anniversary to Sue and Harold Jeter on April 25.

• Happy birthday on April 28 to Donna Dodd. She is the wife of Larry Dodd, pastors of The Church Revived. I hope that you have a wonderful birthday and an even better year.

• There will be a ladies free fun and games night on April 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Beechwood Baptist Church in Mt. Olive. Child care is available by reservation only. Please call 631-4531 to make child care reservations or for more information.

• Happy birthday to Hunter Hargreaves on April 30. I hope you have a great year.

• Happy birthday to Carla Vernon on May 2. Carla owns 98 Degrees Tanning Salon and I know she would love to see you come visit some time.

• On April 28, Mortimer Jordan High School PTSA will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the school library to elect new officers for next year. Anyone wishing to be an officer needs to attend. The PTSA will also be discussing plans for next year.

• The Gardendale Arts council is sponsoring a gospel singing on May 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Gardendale Civic Center in the exhibition hall with Steel City. For more information, call 631-4883. This is a free event.
