Garden tip: When trees or shrubs are planted, remember to make a trench around the plant to catch water when it rains. However, you should always water a newly planted tree or shrub for at least seven days. This is a great tip to remember.

• The Corner Theatre presents “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare and directed by Cathie Strickland. Mr. Mike Putman is the producer and director. Call 379-3200 ext. 242 to inquire about tickets.

• Happy birthday to Marjorie Hallman on April 26 and Brandon Smith and Awedrene Reid on April 28. Hope all of you have a great day and many more great years.

• Place this date on your calendar: Mt. Zion Baptist in Corner will have their homecoming and decoration day on May 1. Always remember your loved ones.

• New Bethel Baptist Church will celebrate decoration on April 27. Rev. Gary Creel is the pastor. They will have special singers too.

• We need to pray for the upcoming election and for our troops that are in harms’ way.
