Prepare plants now for outdoors

Garden tip: Now is the time to prepare your house plants to be placed outside. Cut off dead leaves and dead branches. Be sure to clean all the pots as you carry them out. If the plants are dead, discard them in a compost pile, unless they have a disease.

• The Corner Theatre will present “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare and directed by Cathie Strickland. Mr. Mike Putman is the producer and director. Call 379-3200, ext. 242 to inquire about tickets.

• Waterstone Baptist Church will be having an afternoon picnic and worship service at 4 p.m. on April 13 on the land they are purchasing to build a new church building. They land is located on the Dana Road exit.

• The North End Council Flower Show will open to the public on April 17 from 2 to 7 p.m. and April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Happy birthday to: a wonderful lady, Tyffney Dyann Smith on April 21; Lynda Crawford and C.J. Bailey on April 23; and C.J. and Pauline Bailey on April 25.

• Stewart’s Chapel Church will host a singing on April 20 with the Spurgeons. For more information call Betty Dukes at 647-0768.

• Happy birthday greetings to Sara Burton on April 8 and to Sue Oldham on April 9.

• A revival at Banger Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Cook will be on April 13-18. On April 15 they will have camp meeting. Sunday services will start at 5:30 p.m. and weeknights will be at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this revival.

• We need to pray for the upcoming election and for our troops that are in harms’ way.
