Gardendale

City to pick up junk

The City of Gardendale will host a “Gardendale Citizens Spring Cleanup Week” the week of April 7-11. The cleanup effort will also allow residents to have junk items picked up at their home. For more information, call the city’s public works department at 631-3394.



Fultondale

Opening day ceremonies rescheduled for tonight

The City of Fultondale is inviting residents to come take part in opening day ceremonies at the city’s new baseball complex tonight at 6 p.m.

Former Fultondale Mayor John McCain and longtime youth athletics supporter Leldon Hooten are scheduled to throw out the first pitches.

A fireworks display is also scheduled for 8:05 p.m.

Lowery said in case of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be pushed back to Saturday at 6 p.m.



Gardendale

Crossing guard needed

The City of Gardendale is in search of a new crossing guard. Those interested in applying should see crossing guard Hazel Butts at Gardendale High School.
