Jordan blanks Hayden, 15-0

Last season, Hayden upset Mortimer Jordan during the regular season. On Tuesday night, the Lady Blue Devils got some revenge as they won 15-0 over the Lady Wildcats.

On Tuesday, Jordan senior Michelle Cheatwood (8-1) fired a four-inning no-hitter and struck out six. She walked none.

Morgan Estell led the Jordan hitters, going 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs scored and three RBIs. Her three-run homer in the first broke open the game.

Blair Johnson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Logan Woodward went 1-for-2, with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Kayla Cox had a triple and two RBIs.

Erin Whitlock had an RBI-double and Cheatwood went 1-for-2 with a double.

Jordan improved to 14-3 and 2-0 in area, while Hayden slipped to 6-9.

Tabernacle 12,

Evangel 5


Natalie Axt (1-2) threw a five-hitter and struck out four to record the win.

At the plate, Tabernacle (2-2) banged out 17 hits.

Robyn Whaley went 3-for-3 with three doubles, three runs scored and four RBIs.

Savannah Harper went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Meredith White went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Fultondale 22,

Erwin 2


The Lady Wildcats needed only three innings to rout the Lady Eagles.

Camden Marrs (3-0), struck out six, allowed three hits, walked three and allowed two earned runs to record the win.

At the plate, each Fultondale starter had at least one hit, but four collected two hits each.

Catcher Haley Hill, third baseman Shelbi Smith, Cadi “Boo” Oliver, and Marrs had two hits each.

2A Fultondale improved to 6-3 overall with the win over 5A Erwin.

Mountain Brook 2,

Gardendale 1


On Tuesday, the Lady Rockets lost on the road to 6A Mountain Brook.

Beth Erwin (4-2), took the loss despite allowing only two hits. She struck out two and she allowed two earned runs.

At the plate, Kaitlyn Casaday went 2-for-4. Delena Kennedy went 1-for-3 and scored the lone Gardendale run.Kendall Thomas went 1-for-3 with a double. Erwin went 1-for-3.
