Clifford Eugene Sims

Funeral services for Clifford Eugene Sims, 80, of Hanceville will be Monday, March 10, 2008 at noon at Unity Baptist Church, Patrick Morton officiating with interment to follow, with military honors, at Bethleham East Cemetery in Hanceville. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sims died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 1, 1927 in Cullman County to George Washington Sims and Eula Pearl Bland Sims. He was retired from General Motors and served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aslee Susie Sims; three brothers, Wallace, Frank and Virgil “Pete” Sims; and a grandchild, Brandon Sims.

Survivors include a son, Hubert (Mary) Sims of Gold Ridge; twin daughters, Glenda Sims (Larry) McDermott of Michigan and Brenda Sims of Hanceville; 6 grandchildren Mark (Pat) Sims, Gene (Kim) Sims, Michael (Crissy) Sims, Jennafer (Mike) Durham, Travis McDermott and Zachary McDermott; 9 great-grandchildren Ashleigh Sims, A.J. Sims, Allyson Sims, Tesa Sims, Steven Sims, Mirada Sims, Missy Sims, Danielle Richter and Jonathon Krepps; a host of nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law Syble Hamm, Melba Stewart, Sarah Sims and Karen Sims.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2008 from 4:30 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
