Council tables ordinance to rezone Meadow Drive

The Gardendale City Council tabled an ordinance to rezone part of Meadow Drive from R-1 (single-family residential) to C-2 (community business district). The ordinance will be considered at the March 3 meeting.

In other business, the council:

• hired Bobby L. Stobert as a full-time laborer in the public works department

• renewed and extended an employment agreement with tax examiner Jay Brown

• authorized a street light on West Shugart Ridge Road

• honored the fallen public servants of Kirkwood, Mo.

• created a full-time office laborer position in the administrative department

The council will meet again on March 3 at 6:30 p.m.
